There are several reasons why we need to conserve our own country’s cultures:
- A culture is a form of heritage from our ancestors. Cultures have been maintained from time and have been handed down from one generation to another. Cultures help people connect with each other and build communities, within the same cultural backgrounds.
- A culture is part of our identity. The identity or feeling of belonging to a group is called a cultural identity. It is related to nationality, ethnicity, religion, social class, generation, locality or any kind of social group that has its own distinct culture.
- A culture is its society’s uniqueness and specialty. Every country has their own culture, which differs from other country’s culture and every culture is unique and special. That makes every country different from other societies, however in a good way.
- Traditions matter. Tradition contributes a sense of comfort and belonging. It brings families together and enables people to reconnect with friends. Tradition reinforces values such as freedom, faith, integrity, as well as responsibility.
- Responsibility. Cultural traditions teach us to be responsible human beings. Our culture and society make us be the responsible entities that we are.
We can conserve our cultures in a lot of ways. We can start by finding out more about our cultures. Then, we can share what we know to other people who don't know a lot about it. Cultures are actually very interesting to learn and know about. Sadly, most people don't really find cultures important or interesting, so they don't feel the need conserve them. In this kind of situation, there is a high potential for cultures to disappear one by one.
In short, we all have to conserve our own cultures because they
are very important and valuable. Cultures may even help certain areas to be
more peaceful. Countries with strong cultures are more respected in the world.
